Due to the volume of Unemployment Insurance checks being requested early in the week, the printing process is delayed. If you request your check Sunday or Monday, your check could be delayed  longer than if you wait until later in the week.  Fewer checks are requested later in the week and are printed and mailed more quickly.
The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training (OET) is part of the Department of Workforce Investment.  OET Staff provide job services, unemployment insurance services, Labor Market Information, and training opportunities.
  • ARRA - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act- Kentucky received Recovery Act funds from the U. S. Department of Labor to assist citizens with workforce issues. For information about Recovery Act services, by county, click here.
  • Job Services match available workers with employers who need their skills and experience. Work search and referrals may be conducted locally, statewide and nationally.
  • Labor Market Information contains a wide range of statistical data on employment and wage patterns. It is available locally, statewide and nationally to both businesses and job seekers.
  • Training opportunities are available through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) for Adult Dislocated Worker and Youth who meet certain eligibility criteria.

New ARRA Resources July 21, 2009 - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a new Web site (www.ContinuationCoverage.net) and helpline (1-866-400-6689) where certain unemployed workers may request expedited review of a denial by their former employers of eligibility for COBRA premium assistance under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
